Have you seen the commercial where there is a gentlemen asking about her car and how often she take her car in for a check up. He asked the most thought provoking question (not verbatim). You don’t skip your services? She replies, “No!” Then he jokingly states that she probably takes better care of her car than herself.
I realized there was a time when I was caring for others. I cancelled my appointments, didn’t walk, and ate on the go. After reading an article about caregivers “forgetting to mend their own fences,” it gave me the impetus to start to reschedule my appointments and get on a regiment to walk for a cause.
Do you need to “mend your fence?”
Whether you answered yes or no, conduct a self-evaluation of where you are and where you need to be with your check-ups.
