Hockey Huddle

The food sign up list came my way for a pot luck dinner at my daughter’s field hockey team meeting. Sign up lists are intimidating, because the pressure to cook something that everyone likes is incredible. Probably because everyone’s sense.: taste, sight, and smell kick in to the highest level at pot lucks.

So, I signed up for string beans. My thought was get a large can (I thing they call the #13 cans) open it up, heat it with some butter and waalaaa, I have the vegetable which I signed up for.

On my drive from an appointment on the same day that the beans were “due”, I realized that my heart and soul would not let me fix these bland string beans. I thought of the string beans that I like to make and would take the chance that they would like them to! What confirmed the change even more was that this was a family event with her team and it was a special event.

I fixed two types of beans: Bacon and Onion and Lemon and Garlic.

This week’s dishes with recipes will be revealed later and of course with the amazing juicy details too!
