As I was cruising down the aisles of my local grocery store, and a few thoughts crossed my mind about how we go about shopping for our groceries. In my cruising through the aisles, I categorized three types of shoppers:
- Cart vs Hand Carry
- Grocery List vs Mental Note/List
- Saunterers’ vs Busy Bee’s
What stood out most were the Grocery List vs. Mental Note shoppers. It was rather amusing to watch them and see the interaction that these shoppers had with their significant others and children. Also, I noticed that those who had a list seemed more focused. Though this day I was at my best, because I was more prepared than most times, I really started to think about when these lists became most important to me.
I was a big list person for several years, then my work schedule took precedence. I would stop in the store to just get a few items and the grocery bill tally would tend to increase more each month. So, I gradually started to prepare lists, because they truly helped me save time, money and headaches of what did I forget. Lately, I’ve been getting spoiled since my mom has been writing the lists for me weekly.
Do you find yourself a Grocery List shopper or a Mental Note shopper? Take the poll…
