Peeke, Quarterly Read

Reading for pleasure is something that has to be done. Whether you choose a self-help book, inspirational, or a novel, it is something that keeps you motivated. I really enjoy reading, but finding the time has been difficult. I’ve decided in order to get my reading in, i’ll use an electronic resource, such as Kindle It would be my pleasure for you to join me in my Quarterly Read. I will be reading a non-fiction book by Dr. Pam Peake, MD, The Hunger Fix.

Why this book?

It has been on my wish list since it came out in 2012.

How did you learn about the book?

I was in the doctors office and picked up WebMD and saw the book cover, but what interested me the most was the author, Dr. Pam Peeke, MD.

What’s so fascinating about Dr. Peeke?

When I met Dr. Peeke around the early 1990’s, her personality spoke volumes. As she would speak to you, it was sincere. She really enjoyed discussing her passion for her profession It was a love that spoke volumes.

Is there something other than Dr. Peeke that sparked your interest in this book?

I have a love for food to where it can be unhealthy. I turn to it for celebrations, occasions and just plain ‘ole comfort. One thing that I have learned is that you can not stop learning about your love for food and how it affects your daily lifestyle. Pardon the pun, but feeding your mind (yes…it’s a mind issue) with positive thoughts about how to look at food is can be a healthy start. This is why there are support groups to help individuals who love food. You know them…Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, Over Eaters Anonymous and more.

Why are you sharing your thoughts about your love for food and your reading material?

Hunger Fix is a book by a sound author and it may be the one book that will change someone else’s perspective about who they are and what they say about their mind, body and soul.
