In the music world Lil’ Jon is know for his rap and his well know phrases “WHHAAAT, YEEEYAH”, but when he decided to take the challenge to appear on Celebrity Apprentice he surprised many with his talent for business and his thirst to win for his Cause. What impressed me more was when I was in the lobby of a building and there was the October 2013 Diabetes Forecast Magazine. I really enjoyed reading the articles, recipes, and notable facts about diabetes and health; however, the article that was most inspiring was “Rapper Lil Jon Comes Up Big for Diabetes.”
This article was not what we thought we learned from the Celebrity Apprentice, but the author Lindsey Wahowiak captured Lil’ Jon from a very transparent perspective about how diabetes affected his life. His passion for healing his own pain, the loss of his mother, is raising awareness and donations for the research of diabetes.
As with most of the journey’s in working for the cause you learn so much when caring for your loved one and seeking assistance to help your loved one feel comfortable. In the article, Lil Jon states “…I didn’t know the history of the disease, or that it’s a lifelong disease. After, I learned a lot more.” His words are so powerful.
When is the last time that you took inventory of how much you know about your cause?
