NIH, Research Funding

Studying Alzheimer's disease at the APSThank you for the new funding in the research for Alzheimer’s, NIH! When you are a person who has a cause that you want others to hear about, support or donate to, there is a moment when you see efforts made that give you chills of happiness.  Ways that you can get your word out is s through blogging, raising money, or moral support.  It’s amazing to see the successes.  We know that there is something that is being done, but it is the pace that brings on the impatience—we can’t have impatience though.  Everything takes time and every good thing takes even more time.

On September 18, 2013, News Today reported that NIH will be funding research for Alzheimer’s. As this disease continues to grow, the preventive measures are still vague and lack medicine which not necessarily cures, but hopes to delay the progression of the disease.  This article that I read was uplifting and exciting.  It has been almost bi-monthly that I read about donors who contribute to the research of Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia.   You are invited to read the wonderful article, visit: Alzheimer’s research get $45 million boost.

Assignment:  Take the cause that you are working for and keep track of how much funding is donated to research for the next six months.  Or, if you have a general idea of how much as been donated within the past six months.  Write a quick blog about how much has been donated and some of the people it has helped or what they have learned from the research and share it on your blog.  If you are just starting out, just share with us who you are supporting (the cause) for research. _____________________________© 2013 Jewel Williams
