A Safe To Your Future

Have you been through a lot lately?  Does your life look like this safe?  Do you believe that no matter what you do to inspire yourself to do well personally, you have something that takes you a few steps back or you have a tendency to look back and wonder where you will be led next?

You can no longer take that approach to life, just like this worn safe.  There is a door, old, used and possibly inoperable, but the door is there.  One lesson that I have learned is that whatever has challenged us to this point must be giving us strength to move forward.   Take this mindset of positivity and once you are ready to open the door to new opportunities…don’t look back.  Okay, yes you can learn from your past, but your past can not be your crutch as to why you can not move forward.  You have to look forward.

The assignment that you are doing today is one of great lengths.  You will need to read the directions and keep this post up for the picture to the side.  This may take time, but don’t think too long, because as you answer or complete the steps, it is to be from the heart and with little thought.  This way you are being true to yourself.

Take the opportunity to do these five things after truly looking at the picture:

  1. Fold a sheet of paper so that you have four squares.
  2. Give each square on the following phrases:  (1) where I have been; (2) where I am; (3) where I am going; and (4) what is blocking me.
  3. However, before you begin to fill in your squares, you will have to identify something in the picture that relates to each of the phrases and write it down.
  4. Lastly, circle what is blocking you.  Flip over on the back of that paper and state how each of the blocking points can be turned into something “profitable” (you are a valuable individual…remember that) in other words, how you plan to UNblock your mission.

Today is a day that YOU are the cause.  You are worth so much and you can do so much for yourself as well.  You are valuable and You are worth putting time in for acquiring positive rewards.

  1. Hi! Thanks for sharing this post – what a great exercise!

  2. Jewel, I appreciate your post, especially the exercise or assignment you give us to do. Some people (me included) tend to live in the past or in the future, but are never really “present” in the here-and-now. If we are going to make progress in our lives and grow personally and in our relationships, we have to stop looking back, as you said. Tuck away the past in a safe; close the door, turn the lock, and greet TODAY with faith and determination.
