Day 9: Be A Leader

3dPersonLeadershipConceptIn any form of leadership, it takes a leader to make decisions and to guide one in the best direction possible to complete a task.  So often we look at leadership in the since of political leaders, company executives and heads of organizations, but everyone is a leader of/for something.  The question that must be answered would be, are you making decisions?  If you are making decisions for yourself and including others, you are leading in a position, whether you are at your home or in an organization (committee chair).

What defines a leader?

leader  (ˈliːdə)
1.  a person who rules, guides, or inspires others; head

The healthy lifestyle vocabulary is to build you up, enhance your personal meaning of being you, and it is to inspire.  In your daily walk, you are encouraged and inspire others.  What are you doing to inspire others?

In your daily journal, you will need to make a list of ten things that you are doing in a leadership position.  You are to think outside of the box.  Okay…let’s say that you are only able to identify five things that you are doing as a leader.  Choose one of the five that you have on your list.  You are now going to define your role even more than what you have done in the pass.  Do not look at this as just another list, you are going to take that volunteer position or that committee position that you are in charge of and you are going to really define your role.  Consider you are applying for that position as though it were a job that would give you your entire income.  You are to identify your role and use verbs that give your duty meaning.  Once you are finished, take a moment and look at that “resume”, and then describe how you inspire the people that you are leading.  You will have to acquire ten ways that you do this.  Do not limit yourself in this position.
