Day 15: Envisage an Alternative Thanksgiving Meal

Put yourself in position where you can envisage the thanksgiving dinner, before you begin cooking it. Thanksgiving is a time that food is the best ever. It could be because of the family time that we have with our loved ones; it could be when we are in the kitchen cooking the sides ; or it could be the time off where you get to watch the football game snacking on left overs.  The last thing that most can envisage is a healthy meal.  It is usually a time where we put aside the “clean foods” and indulge in foods that have many calories, preservatives, and more.  What is it that you can do to make it a good choice in getting your meal?

Making these radical changes to your meal will probably make many of your guest leave, but what you can do is consider one of the dishes to see what you can begin to incorporate in your meal to give it a healthy twist.  It is never too late to envisage yourself on the new track to alternative items for those favorite dishes.

As you begin to consider these Thanksgiving alternatives, enhance your vocabulary with:

envisage

  1. My daughter’s family and I would be quite happy with choice A!
    Can’t fathom anyone having deep fried turkey for TG … maybe some do! I often bake “pumpkin pie quiona breakfast bake”….
    We do mash the organic spuds, with coconut milk and oil, and are likely to include local & seasonal Brussels sprouts!
