Coasting on Cruise Control

© Ye Liew - Fotolia.com“This is the new year the new you. You can pass through another year, coasting on cruise control. Or you can step out of your comfort zone, trying things you have never done before, & make 2012 as the year that you elevate from where you are & soar high. Make it happen!”
― Pablo

“You can pass through another year, coasting on cruise control.” I love that line. This is truly a line that speaks to me so well. Though the quote was written in 2012, is powerful enough for you to use this year. What is it that you want to do?  Elevate and become a speaker of many? Start a business because it is your dream?  Or is it that you want to give your best in everything that you do? If you are you living just day to day…coasting and not seeing the positive effects that your talents can do to help others you will not get far.

The definition of cruise control is:

“Cruise control is a system that automatically controls the speed of an automobile. The driver sets the speed and the system takes over the throttle of the car to maintain the speed. The system thereby improves driver comfort in steady traffic conditions. In congested traffic conditions, where speeds vary widely, these systems are no longer effective. Most cruise control systems do not allow the use of cruise control below a certain speed.”

Assignment: The definition of cruise control is poignant. “Most cruise control systems do not allow the use of cruise control to be used below a certain speed.” If you are on cruise control from last year you haven’t truly stopped to see where you are. The cruise control system “improves driver comfort”, so if you haven’t stopped to see where you are in your life with your fitness regime, how are you to improve toward where you want to go. Take the moment to write about three sentences describing if you are on cruise control or if you have reset the control in your life.
