I’m sure I got your attention! Okay…let’s not really say you need to gain 10 pounds, but what you really need to do is gain more intellectual thoughts as you read for the month. Have you read at least ten pages, ten minutes per day or taken ten minutes aside to read this month’s quarterly read, The Gifts of Imperfection: Let Go of Who You Think You’re Supposed to Be and Embrace Who You Are since it was introduced.

Though you may have three months to read the book, you will need to get started, so that you would be able to “grow imperfectly.”  To often we look to perfect ourselves in what we do and we strive diligently to make it seem effortless.   Then, what does the root word, imperfect mean?

im·per·fect (adjective)

1. of, pertaining to, or characterized by defects or weaknesses: imperfect vision.
2. not perfect; lacking completeness: imperfect knowledge.
3. Grammar. noting action or state still in process at some temporal point of reference, particularly in the past.
When we are imperfect, are we truly characterized by weakness or lacking completeness or would you state that our imperfections are chances to improve upon what we may have difficulty achieving? Just take a look at number three, “noting action or state still in process”.  Does imperfection that we are at the “temporal point”?
Assignment: Tell me what you find imperfection means to your life and how others may look at your imperfections.
